August 4th at the Market

Is it just us, or does our favorite day of the week (market day) take so long to get here? While we wait patiently for Sunday to roll around, we might as well talk details so that you are fully prepared for our available goodies.

August marks the beginning of National Farmers Market Week! We are so excited to kick start the week and want to make sure we practice what we peach*. We’re all about eating local food while in season and supporting the community while we do it.

Palisade peach season is in full swing! You can bite right into them, toss ‘em in a salad, or make your favorite dish (check out our modified peach crisp recipe).

You know what sounds good? A fresh bed of greens from Netzel Farms, topped with peach slices from Palisade Peach Trees, tossed in a honey vinaigrette made with fresh honey from Nimbus Road Apiary as well as olive oil and balsamic from the variety of flavors at Aspen Gold. Fresh and delicious. Just sayin’.

Looking for a bit of color in your life? Empty Canvas Art is your local artist for all jewelry and home good needs. Their colorful serving tray is the perfect dinner party essential to carry appetizers and drinks. Speaking of colors, The Pickle People have fermented fuchsia-colored kraut that will look good in any dish or on your spoon.

In this summer heat, you’ll want to cool down at the start and end of the day. Whether you’re showering or washing your face, you can rely on the soap from EJ’s Farm. They are hand-crafted and sure to nourish your skin. Your new bar may look too beautiful to touch, so you should buy a few just for lookin’.

See you Sunday!
