The year 2020 will go down in infamy: a worldwide pandemic, a renewed civil rights movement, and humanity's wrestling with itself like never before. It's hard to think there will be more to surprise us and challenge us, but I wouldn't doubt it.
The market has had to adapt to a lot of changes, mostly related to COVID-19. To ensure our vendor's safety, we are having controlled access, limited capacity, and are requiring face masks for all vendors and customers (this is also a legal requirement by the city of Denver). We appreciate the positive response we received on this for our first market and look forward to hosting everyone every Sunday!
Another major change that took us by surprise was relocating the market! We loved hosting the market behind 11th Avenue Hostel, but a large renovation there lead us to look into new spaces. We are grateful to be partnering with City Street Investors to host the market on the beautiful Evan's School lawn! The building has been vacant for about 40 years, and bringing new life to it is so exciting for us.
This year, we will also be selling face masks at every market! It's something I never thought we'd be doing, but here we are! If you need a face mask, or to freshen up your outfits (they're now a fashion statement, apparently), please purchase one at the market.
And of course, this year we are beta testing fresh produce boxes for $35! We have partnered with DiFranco's, a local restaurant, to provide these simple grab and go boxes that come with 15 lbs. of produce. We estimate it's enough to feed a family of 2 for a week. The boxes contain a rotating cast of characters coupled with fresh greens, onions and potatoes each week.
Please join us Sunday's from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. through the end of September to celebrate a wonderful market season.
