Vendor Spotlight: Aspen Gold

Sharon and Nico of Aspen Gold

Famous for their creative spices and array of delicious oils and vinegars, Aspen Gold team Sharon and Nico have all the enthusiasm necessary to entice customers to sample their flavors and fall in love with their awesome products. We spoke with them to learn more about their business and experience at the Market.

Golden Triangle Farmers Market: Tell us about Aspen Gold.

Nico Beno: We are a vendor of imported olive oils, balsamics and much more, including outrageous seasonings and rubs.

GTFM: Why did you start your business?

NB: Sharon fell into it. She has a friend with a small little import market and remembered this person for years. One day we were sitting around and talked about getting into the import/export business. Sharon touched base with her friend to see what transpired - women she knew and how she could help. There was a lot of work and education involved.

GTFM: What do you enjoy most about your job?

NB: The people! We have a substantial repeat business at Golden Triangle. Every Sunday someone says they tried our product and tried what we said to do. That's the most rewarding part. We believe in our product and we need to be present and at the forefront of our one on one conversations.

GTFM: Why do you love the Golden Triangle Farmers Market?

NB: Because first and foremost we love the people who run it! It is comfortable, not ostentatious, and not lacking. It is meant to be that we're there.

GTFM: We can tell! You're so fun!

GTFM: Last random question, do you have a favorite vegetable/fruit?

NB: Arugula from Jess at Netzel Farms and peaches from Palisade Peaches!
